Viqsit: The Voice of Vision and Devotion
In the bustling lanes of India’s independent music scene, few names shine as brightly as Viqsit. A versatile musician, singer, and founder of Delhi’s most affordable and popular recording studio, VSA Records, Viqsit has become a powerhouse of creativity and collaboration. With a career spanning work with over 300 independent artists, composing for indie projects, YouTube hits, and feature films, and clinching the prestigious 75 Creative Minds of India award at the International Film Festival of India in 2022, Viqsit’s journey is one to watch.
Now, he’s poised to embark on his most ambitious venture yet: Gurudrishti. This EP, launched last month with its insightful opening track, "Bol Ram," is the start of what Viqsit describes as “a lifelong series dedicated to Gurudev.” With five songs lined up for this project, all sung by Viqsit himself, Gurudrishti promises to be a soulful exploration of devotion, spirituality, and artistry.
A Journey Rooted in Passion
Viqsit’s journey began with a dream to create a haven for independent artists. VSA Records, which he founded, quickly grew into a hub where emerging talents found not just technical expertise but also a nurturing creative environment. “I wanted to build a space where every note, every lyric, felt alive,” says Viqsit. His reputation as a champion for indie music was further cemented with his work at Ashmeen Films Production House, which boasts over 1 lakh YouTube subscribers.
His foray into films saw him composing the music for Uparwala and Sons (2024), a project that underscored his ability to craft cinematic soundscapes. Currently, Viqsit is composing for Handumaan, a feature film penned by M. Prasad Babu, the Hindi dialogue writer of Vijay Thalapathy’s The GOAT.
The Vision Behind Gurudrishti
For Viqsit, Gurudrishti is more than an EP—it’s a spiritual journey. “This series is my reflection on my connection to the divine and my interpretation of the world around me,” he explains. The first track, "Bol Ram," has already set the tone with its captivating melodies and innovative lyrics, resonating with listeners across generations.
The EP promises a blend of contemporary and classical sounds, with Viqsit pushing his own creative boundaries. “Each song is a dialogue with the divine, a commentary on society, and an introspection of my own journey,” he shares. For more, please visit https://m.imdb.com/name/nm15341830/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
